| | Faith White is a native of Willshire, Ohio, and a 2003 graduate of Parkway High School. She was a three-year member of OMEA All-State ensembles performing with both the band and orchestra. Currently, Ms. White is a Senior at Capital University, double majoring in Instrumental Music Education and Percussion Performance. At Capital, she has studied with Bob Breithaupt (drummer for the Columbus Jazz Arts Group), Ben Ramirez (timpanist for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra) and Nate Anders. She has performed with the Capital University Symphonic Winds, Orchestra, Concert Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Percussion Ensemble, Ethnic Percussion Ensemble, and Women's Chorus. in November 2005, Ms. White gave a Junior recital, in partial completion of the requirements for a degree in Performance. Outside the University, she performed with the Newark Granville Orchestra and in 2003, was a guest soloist with the Lima Area Concert Band, with whom she will solo again this summer. Ms. White recently returned from two terms at the University of York in Yorkshire, England. There she studied with Damien Harron, Composer/Performer and founding member of the Backbeat Percussion Quartet. At York, she focused mainly on percussion, conducting and editing early music and performed in the Orchestra, Javanese Gamelan and Chimera (new music ensemble). The highlight of her experience abroad was performing two concerts in the Minster, the medieval cathedral in York's city centre. In addition to studying at the University, working with the Pickerington North sideline ensemble, and teaching private lessons, Ms. White enjoys cooking and (slowly but surely) completing a ridiculously large scrapbook of her time in England. |
