All rehearsal and sectional attendance is required unless a student is out of town (family vacation, work camp, etc....).  Work, athletic contests, etc...are not valid reasons to miss summer rehearsals.  If a student is going to be out of town it must be submitted in writing no later than June 1st in order for it to be considered excused.

Participation in pre-band camp, band camp, and post-band camp rehearsals is mandatory.  Students missing any of these events may be placed in a shared position or lose marching privileges during football season.

2011 PHSN Band Camp Information

Band camp is one of our most important weeks of rehearsal.  Students will learn the bulk of their music and drill for our contest show during this week.  Attendance is crucial for our success and the experiences and learning that occurs is difficult to “make-up”. This week should be treated as if students are going away for a week of summer camp (no Dr. Appointments, etc…). Band camp will be held at PHSN and will follow the attached schedule.  In addition to all rules found in the PHSN Band Handbook, PHSN Student Handbook, and the PLSD Extracurricular Student Discipline code (IGD-P), the following rules will be in effect:

• Students are not permitted to leave the school grounds during band camp hours!
• Students must observe the PLSD and PHS-N dress code.  Dress cool but modest!

1. Students must wear athletic tennis shoes (no sandals, shoes without heels/backs)
2. Ladies: no swim-suit tops, sports bras, etc… are to be worn as an outer garment. 
   Dress to stay cool & modest!
3. Use sun screen/block.  Don’t ruin your week with a sunburn!
